In protest against the non-payment of October salaries, teachers under the Samagra Shiksha scheme in Khowai district submitted a deputation to District Education Officer (DEO) Swapan Sarkar on Monday, demanding immediate action.
The delegation informed that while teachers in other districts have already received their salaries for October, those in Khowai are still waiting. As a result, many are facing severe financial hardship, struggling to manage daily expenses and sustain their families.
They urged the DEO to ensure prompt disbursal of pending salaries and to take necessary measures to prevent such delays in the future.
Responding to the deputation, District Education Officer Swapan Sarkar assured that the matter would be reviewed seriously and addressed at the earliest.
