Agartala: Nov 08. In a bid to encourage young sportspersons, former bank employee and Tripura Football Association (TFA) member Tapan Sutradhar on Friday distributed football jerseys to local players at Jampuijala Play ground.
The initiative was taken following a request from football coach Subodh Debbarma, Sutradhar informed reporters. A former footballer himself, he said his efforts are aimed at motivating budding players and that such support will continue in the future.
Sutradhar further noted that Jampui Jala subdivision has already earned a name for itself in sports, particularly football, and expressed hope that its young athletes would bring more laurels to the region.
The jersey distribution programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from players and locals alike. Among others present were Jampui Jala Press Club President Lakshman Debbarma, Secretary Shibcharan Debbarma, and several dignitaries.
