Agartala: Nov 07. The Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha have expressed concern over the tragic school bus accident that occurred near the railway bridge on the Amtali Bypass Road in Agartala on Friday afternoon, leaving several students injured. He said he has already sought detailed information regarding the treatment of the injured students and wished them a speedy recovery. The Chief Minister further stated that police authorities have been directed to conduct a proper investigation and take necessary action.
Earlier in the day, a private school bus from Monfort School in Rani Kamalpur met with a serious accident near the railway bridge on the Amtali Bypass Road under Amtali Police Station limits. Several students and a woman standing by the roadside were severely injured in the incident.
According to reports, the bus carrying students lost control while crossing the bypass and overturned. Hearing the loud crash, local residents rushed to the spot and began rescuing the trapped children. The Amtali Police and Badarghat Fire Service personnel quickly arrived and, with the help of locals, rescued the injured and transported them to Hapania Medical College and Hospital.
Doctors confirmed that all injured students are under treatment, while the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. Local residents later shared their account of the incident with journalists present at the scene.
