Tripura, 2nd Nov 2025: A tragic road accident once again shook the Kamalpur subdivision, as a tomtom overturned at Lambu Chowmuhani, leaving five people seriously injured, including a seven-year-old child.
According to reports, the tomtom was carrying five passengers from Moynabari towards Kamalpur via Lambu when the driver lost control of the vehicle near the Lambu crossing. In a split second, the vehicle overturned, creating a scene of chaos and panic as cries for help filled the air.
Local residents rushed to the spot and rescued the injured passengers. The victims have been identified as Minati Modak (72), Niyati Kanda (22), Ritesh Kanda (7), and Suchitra Das (36). All of them sustained severe injuries; two suffered head injuries, while one person reportedly broke an arm.
The driver, identified as Sanjib Deb, was also injured in the crash. All five were taken to a local hospital for initial treatment, but as their conditions worsened, four were referred to Kulai District Hospital. Their condition is reported to be critical.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
