Agartala: Nov 01. The State-Level School Sports Competition 2025, organized by the Gomati District School Sports Council, began today at the District Sports Complex Grand Stand in Udaipur. This year’s tournament features Under-17 Girls’ Football, drawing participants from across Tripura. The three-day event will continue until November 3.
The opening ceremony, held at 3 PM on Saturday, was graced by Gomati Zilla Parishad Chairperson Debal Debroy, Vice-Chairperson Sujan Kumar Sen, Kakraban Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Supriya Saha, and Tripura Sports Board (Agartala) General Secretary and Joint Director of Youth Affairs & Sports Department Paimong Mog. The program was presided over by Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Sital Chandra Majumdar.
Speaking at the inauguration, Debal Debroy said that such state-level sports competitions help nurture sportsmanship, discipline, and mutual harmony among students. He expressed hope that the meet would play a vital role in shaping the next generation of talented athletes from Tripura.
Deputy Director of Youth Affairs & Sports, Banajit Bagchi, supervised the overall arrangements for the event. Teams from various districts of the state will compete in the football tournament over the next three days, with winners to be awarded on the closing day.
