Tripura, 29 Oct 2025: The Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) will soon recruit 104 managers, and the state government is set to launch new welfare schemes including the Mukhyamantri Minority Development Project and the Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana, announced Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury at a press conference held at the Secretariat Conference Hall yesterday.
The minister stated that these decisions were taken during the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Tuesday.
According to the announcement, 36 Grade-A and 68 Grade-B managerial posts will be filled in TSECL.
Among the Grade-A posts, 24 are for B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, 4 for Mechanical Engineering, and 8 for Civil Engineering candidates. Among the Grade-B posts, 58 are for Diploma in Electrical Engineering, 2 for Mechanical, and 8 for Civil. The recruitment process will be conducted directly by the department.
To strengthen the economic foundation of the minority community, the Cabinet has approved a new scheme titled ‘Mukhyamantri Minority Development Project’ with an allocation of ₹1.5 crore. Under this project, the Minority Welfare Department will provide ₹10,000 in two installments to beneficiaries engaged in small-scale businesses like dairy, duck, and poultry farming. Around 1,500 beneficiaries will be covered initially.
The Cabinet has also approved the establishment of the second women’s college in the state at Nalchhara under Sonamura subdivision, under the Higher Education Department.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved the launch of the Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana, aimed at providing financial assistance to up to two girl children from Antyodaya families. Under the scheme, a fixed deposit of ₹50,000 will be made in the name of each girl child, which can be withdrawn once she turns 18 years old. Eligibility criteria include birth in a government healthcare facility, the mother being over 18 years and 9 months old, and the girl remaining unmarried till 18. The scheme will be implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education.
Furthermore, the Cabinet approved the Tripura Women Entrepreneurship Policy, under which the Industry and Commerce Department will provide loans of up to ₹1 crore to women entrepreneurs, particularly from rural areas, with a 35% subsidy. Tripura is among the few states in India to introduce such a policy.
