Agartala: Oct 27. Tripura Police has suspended Constable Amir Khan Bhuiya, currently posted in West Tripura, following serious allegations of bribery, land grabbing, and extortion from local residents.
According to suspension order issued last night, a criminal case has been registered against Bhuiya under Amtali Police Station Case No. 2025/AMT/111, dated October 26, 2025, under sections 329(3), 324(3), 117(2), 351(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act, 2023. The investigation is currently underway, officials confirmed.
As per the suspension order issued by West District Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak, Bhuiya’s headquarters during the suspension will be at A.D. Nagar Police Lines under the control of the Assistant Commandant, District Armed Reserve (DAR), West Tripura. He has been directed to maintain discipline and comply with departmental rules during the suspension period.
The suspended constable will receive subsistence allowances as per existing service norms.
Earlier, residents of Matinagar, Fultali under Amtali Police Station had accused Bhuiya of harassing locals, forcibly seizing land, and extorting money in the name of senior police officials. Bhuiya, son of Kadam Ali Bhuiya, is attached to the West District SP Office.
