Agartala, October 15: In a major step towards revolutionizing healthcare and medical education in Tripura, the State Government today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. The MoU was signed between the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Tripura, and AIIMS to develop the state’s medical colleges and hospitals into centers of excellence, aligning with international standards.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who witnessed the signing, termed it a “proud moment for Tripura.” He stated that this partnership will help transform Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and GBP Hospital into a modern medical hub equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, modeled on the excellence of AIIMS, New Delhi.
“This collaboration aims to bring world-class medical facilities and super-specialty healthcare services to the people of Tripura,” Dr. Saha wrote on social media, expressing his optimism that the MoU will pave the way for advanced patient care, quality medical education, and specialized training opportunities for healthcare professionals in the state.
The agreement marks a significant milestone in Tripura’s vision of establishing itself as a leader in healthcare in the Northeast region.
