Lembucherra, March 8, 2025: <\/strong>The College of Fisheries, CAU (I), Lembucherra, Tripura successfully conducted a 15-day training program on \u201cApplication of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics in Fisheries and Life Sciences\u201d, which concluded on March 6, 2025. The program, held from February 20 to March 6, was organized under the DBT-NER Advance Level Institutional Biotech Hub Phase II project, sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. A total of 25 trainees from the College of Fisheries, Raha (Assam), Tripura University, and the College of Fisheries, CAU (I), Lembucherra participated in the training. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program featured expert sessions led by resource persons from prestigious institutions, including RLBCAU (Jhansi), ILS (Bhubaneswar), ICAR-CIFA (Bhubaneswar), ICAR-CIFRI (Kolkata), ICAR-NBFGR (Lucknow), BASU (Bihar), Tripura University, and the University of South Bohemia (Czech Republic). These sessions covered various advanced biotechnological and bioinformatics applications in fisheries and life sciences. Additionally, trainees received hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technologies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The valedictory session, held on the concluding day, was graced by Shri Mahender Singh, IFS, Director, Directorate of Biotechnology, Government of Tripura, as the Chief Guest, and Shri Anjan Sengupta, Joint Director, Directorate of Biotechnology, Government of Tripura, as the Guest of Honour. In his address, Shri Mahender Singh emphasized the role of biotechnology in economic growth, environmental sustainability, and employment generation. Shri Anjan Sengupta urged trainees to apply their advanced knowledge for the betterment of society. Prof. Arun Bhai Patel, Dean of the College of Fisheries, highlighted the importance of productivity, efficiency, and sustainability in aquaculture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Prof. Sagar Chandra Mandal, HoD & Co-PI of the project, and Dr. Janmejay Parhi, Course Director, provided insights into the training program.
