Tripura, 2nd March, 2025:<\/strong> Agartala\u2019s traffic police have come under scrutiny after reports emerged that vehicles are being fined even when stationary. A social media user recently highlighted an incident where a car, which was stopped with its brake lights on, was fined \u20b92,000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the photo shared online, the vehicle appears to be at a halt, yet Tripura Police reportedly issued the fine for overspeeding. The speed limit in the area was 40 km\/h, and the alleged speed of the vehicle was recorded at 41 km\/h\u2014just 1 km\/h over the limit. This has sparked widespread criticism, with people questioning whether such minor speed violations warrant heavy fines. Many Agartala residents have taken to social media to express their frustration, with several claiming they too have received unjust fines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The controversy has intensified following the implementation of the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), which oversees traffic monitoring.
