The festival is celebrated for seven days every year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the various celebrations, the most grand one is performed by the Jamatia Hoda. This traditional festival marks the beginning of the new year in the month of Baishakh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, major fairs will be organized in two locations in Tripura one in Pitra Village, Killa, and another in Sarbong, Amarpur, also known by its Indigenous name, Swkchuima. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two celebrations represent two symbolic figures Biya Gwnang Garia, meaning \u201c<strong>Younger Brother Garia<\/strong>,\u201d and Biya kwrwi Baba Garia, meaning \u201c<strong>Big Brother Garia.\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every year, the Tripura State Government declares a two-day holiday for the last Puja. The first day of the seven-day-long festival is called Buisu, and the final day is known as Sena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Today, to further enhance and strengthen this historic festival, <strong>CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia<\/strong> of the TTAADC government has announced financial assistance of \u20b95 lakh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After discussions with Jamatia Hoda\u2019s Hoda Okra and Panchai, the CEM, even after providing \u20b95 lakh, has separately promised to undertake temporary road maintenance, the construction of a temporary footbridge, and the development of bathing steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u20b95 lakh will be distributed equally, with \u20b92.5 lakh allocated to each location. CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia personally visited both sites today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Additionally, MLA Pathan Lal Jamatia and MDC Sadhaghar Kalai have also extended their support for the Amarpur Sarbong fairs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fair will take place on April 13, while the puja will begin on April 14.
