Tripura Transforms from Landlocked to Land-Linked State: HM Amit Shah<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tripura 5 Jan, 2025:<\/strong> Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that Tripura has transformed from a landlocked state to a land-linked state under the leadership of Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha. He emphasized that in the last seven years of the current government\u2019s tenure, Tripura has witnessed more development than in the previous 35 years. Shah made these remarks while virtually addressing the Offer of Appointment distribution ceremony at Swami Vivekananda Maidan from New Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, appointment letters were distributed for 369 pharmacist and lab technician positions in the health department, along with 2,437 multi-tasking staff (MTS) positions across 37 state government departments through JRBT. Symbolically, Chief Minister Manik Saha and his cabinet members handed over appointment letters to nine individuals. The event was attended by Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Industry & Commerce Minister Santwana Chakma, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma, SC Welfare Minister Sudhanshu Das, Cooperation Minister Shuklacharan Noatia, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, and CM\u2019s Secretary Dr. P.K. Chakraborty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Northeast\u2019s Rapid Development Under PM Modi<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amit Shah highlighted the rapid development of the Northeast under Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s leadership, stating that the region is now recognized nationwide for its improved connectivity, infrastructure, education, agriculture, and investment opportunities. He pointed out that in the last decade, central ministers have frequently visited the Northeast, something unimaginable under previous governments. The Union government has undertaken special initiatives for the development of Tripura and the Northeast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further noted that three agreements have been signed between the central government and various insurgent groups to restore peace in Tripura. As a result, no separatist group is currently active in the state. Addressing the issue of displaced Brus, Shah stated that their long-standing problems related to permanent settlement, education, healthcare, and employment have been resolved. He urged the newly appointed candidates to dedicate themselves to the development of Tripura and the nation, and he praised CM Manik Saha for ensuring a transparent and merit-based recruitment process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the event, CM Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha emphasized that government employees are the backbone of the administration, playing a crucial role in implementing policies and welfare programs. He reiterated the state government\u2019s commitment to PM Modi\u2019s vision of a corruption-free India and called for officials to uphold integrity and social responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister highlighted the recruitment of 369 pharmacists and lab technicians, along with 2,437 MTS positions, as a significant milestone in the state\u2019s employment history. He reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to maintaining a transparent recruitment process and ensuring that merit and competence are prioritized over political allegiance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CM also mentioned that 1,980 candidates were selected for Group-C positions, including LDC clerks and agriculture assistants, through JRBT, and their appointments were finalized in December 2023. To ensure local youth benefit from government jobs, a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRTC) has been made mandatory for state recruitment. From the 2018-19 fiscal year to January 2024-25, a total of 16,451 candidates have been appointed across various departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, through the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC), 1,617 employment opportunities have been created in the state\u2019s industrial zones over the past three years. In 2023-24, the state launched the Chief Minister\u2019s Skill Development Scheme to enhance employability among the youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Labour Minister Tinku Roy, in his welcome speech, described the day as a moment of pride for Tripura, emphasizing the government\u2019s efforts since 2018 to ensure youth employment and women\u2019s self-reliance.
