Tripura 4 Jan, 2025:<\/strong> The primary condition for the development of any state is an efficient communication network. The more advanced and modern the communication infrastructure, the faster the state develops. Since the BJP-IPFT coalition government came to power in Tripura for the first time in 2018, a significant focus has been placed on building a modern and progressive Tripura by improving its connectivity. In a short period, the entire state is being integrated into the national highway network, a remarkable achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Friday, Minister Ratan Lal Nath stated, \u201cFrom 2018 to 2024, despite two years being lost to COVID, the level of work done in just four years to improve the state\u2019s communication and overall infrastructure is unprecedented. This has been made possible by the double-engine government, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari leading the way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Highway Development Milestones<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister Nath provided some key statistics:
\u2022 Before 2018: The state had only 99 kilometers of two-lane national highways, built at a cost of \u20b91,128.37 crore.
\u2022 Post-2018: A total of 334 kilometers of two-lane national highways have been constructed so far, costing \u20b94,679.75 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ongoing and Upcoming Projects: <\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u2022 Four-lane highways: Construction of 44 kilometers is underway.
\u2022 Two-lane highways: Another 74 kilometers are under construction.
\u2022 Future projects:
\u2022 Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for 205 kilometers of four-lane highways have been completed, with an estimated cost of \u20b916,235 crore.
\u2022 Other projects include a 10-kilometer Eastern Bypass (Lembuchhara to Khayerpur), a 140-kilometer four-lane road from Champaknagar to Ambassa-Kumarghat-Churaibari, and a 55-kilometer four-lane road from Amtali to Udaipur-Matabari.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construction for these projects is expected to begin later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister Nath remarked, \u201cIn my 50 years of political life, I have never seen such rapid development in Tripura. It\u2019s extraordinary and has been made possible only because of the BJP governments at both the center and the state.
