Tripura 29 November, 2024:<\/strong> Khowai\u2019s New Town Hall became the center of vibrant cultural and educational activities as the four-day District-Level Vidya Fest kicked off today. Organized by the District-Level Vidya Fest Organizing Committee, the event was inaugurated by Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma, marking his return to work after recovering from a leg injury sustained following Durga Puja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his inaugural speech, Minister Debbarma expressed his dedication to serving the people of the state and emphasized the government\u2019s commitment to fostering the state\u2019s traditional culture and heritage. \u201cIt is essential to educate the younger generation about the rich legacy of our traditions and culture. Students must be equipped with quality education to become established individuals who contribute to the welfare of society and the nation,\u201d he said. The minister also urged teachers to focus on imparting qualitative education to nurture students\u2019 talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting the significance of the state\u2019s cultural and artistic heritage, he remarked, \u201cCulture and tradition are our greatest assets, and we must preserve and promote them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aparna Singha Roy (Dutta), Sabhadhipati of Khowai Zilla Parishad, also addressed the gathering, underscoring the government\u2019s dedication to improving educational infrastructure while fostering overall development. She stressed the importance of enhancing the quality of education to elevate academic standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inaugural program featured a welcome address by Khowai District Magistrate Chandni Chandran and was presided over by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Charu Verma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notable attendees included Padma Shri awardee Dipa Karmakar, Additional District Magistrate Sumit Kumar Pandey, Dr. Monika Das, Principal of Sachin Debbarman Memorial Government Music College, and District Education Officer Dinesh Debbarma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event featured patriotic songs and dances performed by students from various schools, along with a screening of an awareness film on child marriage. Students from 12 Vidyajyoti schools in the Khowai district will participate in 28 competitive events, including music, dance, drama, essay writing, art, yoga, rangoli, and poetry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 12 exhibition stalls have been set up in the Town Hall premises as part of the Vidya Fest. The closing ceremony of the event will be held on December 2 at Teliamura Town Hall.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
