Agartala 18 Sep, 2024:<\/strong> Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha inaugurated a blood donation camp organized by the Maharani Tulsibati Welfare Trust today at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Yuva Abas in Agartala. The event was held in honor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 74th birthday. During the program, the CM emphasized that voluntary blood donation transcends caste and gender, marking it as one of the noblest acts of humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CM also highlighted the implementation of several welfare announcements made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi since he took office. He mentioned the abolition of triple talaq, benefiting Muslim women, and the scrapping of Articles 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir. These steps, according to the CM, are milestones in India’s progress under the Prime Minister\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saha further discussed the successful implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which has provided affordable housing across urban and rural areas. He acknowledged the financial support to farmers through the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, providing \u20b96,000 annually to help them sustain their livelihoods. Additionally, he praised the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which offers free medical treatment up to \u20b95 lakhs per family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting Modi\u2019s leadership, the CM said that initiatives like \u2018Mann Ki Baat\u2019 have united the country, and India\u2019s successful hosting of the G-20 summit, including an event in Tripura, was a testament to Modi\u2019s efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CM also recognized the contributions made by the tribal community in the state, noting that several tribal personalities have been honored with the Padma Shri in recent years. He praised the appointment of former Deputy CM Jishnu Dev Varma as the Governor of Telangana and mentioned the government’s ongoing projects for the development of tribal areas, including a \u20b91,400 crore loan from the Asian Development Bank. The funds will be used for improving education and infrastructure in tribal regions, with several Eklavya Model Residential Schools already operational in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CM reflected on the progress in the northeastern region, where terrorism had once been rampant. Thanks to PM Modi’s efforts, peace has been established, and the state’s infrastructure, including road, rail, and air connectivity, has seen significant improvement under the HIRA model. He also emphasized the recent introduction of a new National Education Policy (NEP) after 34 years, which has been implemented in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Vishal Kumar, District Magistrate of West Tripura, also addressed the audience, noting that a shortage of blood was reported a few months ago. In response to the CM\u2019s call, many social organizations and clubs came forward to donate blood, helping the state overcome the shortfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
