The incident came to light around 4:00 am to 4:30 am on Friday, when the leaseholders discovered dead fish fingerlings floating on the surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The leaseholders initially estimated that around 10 to 12 lakh fish fingerlings had died, while those speaking in the video interview put the figure at approximately 10 to 15 lakh. The estimated financial loss is between \u20b97 lakh and \u20b910 lakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The leaseholders stated that they had been cultivating fish in the pond for the past four to five months after securing it through a tender issued by the block authorities. They expressed suspicion that certain individuals might be behind the incident, although the identities of the suspected perpetrators and the motive remain unclear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the interview, the leaseholders said they intended to lodge a formal complaint with Radhakishorepur Police Station. They also confirmed that police personnel had visited the site and inspected the pond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the leaseholders further alleged that some local residents had been catching and taking away fish and fingerlings from the pond during the early hours of the morning, with reports suggesting that this activity began around 3:00 am. These allegations have yet to be independently verified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incident has raised concerns among the leaseholders over the substantial financial loss.
