Tripura, 21 Oct 2026<\/strong>: Tipra Motha Party founder Bubagra Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma has strongly condemned alleged derogatory remarks made by social media personality Amir Shokeen against a Tripuri individual and the historic name of Tripura, demanding appropriate legal action in the matter.

In a social media post, Pradyot Kishore Manikya expressed outrage over remarks allegedly mocking the people of Tripura and referring to the state using terms such as \u201cChina,\u201d \u201cChiko\u201d and \u201cChutpura.\u201d Questioning the nature of the comments, he said that ridiculing the people and the historic name of Tripura amounted to an insult to the state’s identity and dignity.

He called upon youth organisations, including the Youth Tipra Federation (YTF), Tripura Students’ Federation (TSF) and Tripura Indigenous Students’ Federation (TISF), to immediately file a case against the individual. He also urged the authorities to take appropriate action and send a police team to arrest the accused in accordance with the law.

Meanwhile, the Tripura Students Forum Delhi has issued a statement condemning the alleged racial harassment, verbal abuse and physical mistreatment of a Tripuri boy by Amir Shokeen. According to the forum, a video circulated on Instagram on September 19, 2026, purportedly shows the individual being subjected to remarks that appear derogatory and racially prejudicial.

The forum described the allegations as a serious matter, stating that such conduct, if established, would be contrary to the constitutional principles of equality, dignity and fraternity. It said that racial prejudice against people from Northeast India not only undermines the dignity of the individual concerned but also disrespects the collective identity and cultural heritage of the region.

The Tripura Students Forum Delhi has urged the competent authorities to examine the available evidence impartially and take appropriate action in accordance with the law if the allegations are substantiated. It has also called on relevant institutions and digital platforms to strengthen measures against racial harassment and promote awareness of the diverse identities and cultures of Northeast India.

Reaffirming its opposition to racial discrimination, the forum stated that every citizen deserves dignity, security and equal treatment, regardless of regional or ethnic identity.

The matter has prompted renewed calls for accountability and respect for the people of Tripura and Northeast India. Any legal action will depend on the findings of the competent authorities and the applicable legal process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
