Agartala, Oct 13 :The Tripura Cabinet has unanimously adopted a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years of uninterrupted service as head of government and approved the establishment of eight Seva Jyoti Chowks across the state, Chief Minister Manik Saha said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing a press conference, Saha said the resolution expressed gratitude and respect for Modi, who completed 25 years in office on October 7. He became Gujarat chief minister in 2001 and assumed office as prime minister in 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Cabinet acknowledged Modi’s contributions to nation-building, governance, national security, public welfare and India’s growing international stature, Saha said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that the state government had reaffirmed its commitment to the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat and a Viksit Tripura, in line with the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Saha highlighted several major decisions taken during Modi’s tenure, including the abrogation of Article 370, implementation of One Rank One Pension, creation of the post of Chief of Defence Staff, labour law reforms and replacement of colonial-era criminal laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also referred to the 2016 surgical strikes, the 2019 Balakot air strikes and Operation Sindoor in May 2025. India’s hosting of the G20 Summit in 2023 and its engagement with international groupings, including BRICS, were also cited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The chief minister said Tripura had benefited from central development initiatives, particularly in connectivity, infrastructure and public amenities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Work on the Agartala City West Bypass has commenced, while plans are underway to upgrade the Agartala-Churaibari and Agartala-Udaipur corridors to four lanes, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, four railway stations \u2014 Agartala, Dharmanagar, Kumarghat and Udaipur \u2014 are being redeveloped with an allocation of Rs 146 crore. The Udaipur-Agartala-Sabroom railway corridor has also been fully electrified, Saha said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that a study for doubling the 263-km railway line from Chandranathpur to Sabroom had been completed. Urban development projects under the Agartala Smart City Mission and the establishment of an Ayurvedic Medical College were among other initiatives highlighted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Cabinet also approved permanent installation of Seva Jyoti Chowks at eight locations to promote public service, social responsibility and community participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The proposed sites include locations in Agartala, Dharmanagar, Kailashahar, Ambassa, Khowai, Bishramganj, Udaipur and Belonia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Saha said the landmarks would encourage cleanliness drives, voluntary service and tree plantation, while raising awareness of welfare schemes and helping ensure that benefits reached the last person in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
