Agartala, October 1:<\/strong> Agartala Municipal Corporation on Thursday launched task force vehicles as part of efforts to strengthen cleanliness and sanitation services in the Tripura capital, with Mayor Dipak Majumder urging workers to continue their dedicated efforts and residents to contribute to the civic drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Majumder made the appeal while addressing a special programme organised at the Corporation premises here. The programme, titled \u2018Safai Mitra Suraksha Shibir\u2019 and \u2018Flagging Off of Task Force Vehicles\u2019<\/strong>, focused on sanitation workers’ contribution, their safety and strengthening civic cleanliness operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The event was inaugurated by Majumder, Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, Additional Commissioner Mihir Kanti Ghosh and other senior officials through ceremonial lamp lighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Addressing the gathering, Majumder expressed gratitude to sanitation workers for performing their duties regularly despite difficult working conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “The cleanliness of Agartala is possible only because of the dedication and hard work of our sanitation workers. Their contribution is invaluable,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Mayor said sanitation workers play a crucial role in maintaining hygiene and ensuring a healthy environment for residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He urged the workers to continue cooperating with the municipal authorities in implementing cleanliness initiatives across the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Majumder also called upon citizens to shoulder responsibility for maintaining cleanliness in their neighbourhoods and public spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Residents should dispose of waste only at designated points and comply with the cleanliness guidelines issued by the Corporation, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He emphasised that civic authorities alone could not ensure a clean city and that active participation from residents was essential for achieving the objective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Public participation is equally important in ensuring a clean and healthy Agartala,” Majumder said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The programme also highlighted the need to ensure the safety, protection and dignity of sanitation workers engaged in essential civic services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Officials said the Safai Mitra Suraksha Shibir<\/strong> was aimed at creating greater awareness about workers’ safety while strengthening the city’s sanitation mechanism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The task force vehicles flagged off during the programme are expected to supplement the Corporation’s existing sanitation operations and help address cleanliness-related requirements in different parts of Agartala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Deputy Mayor Das Dutta and other officials also highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts involving sanitation workers, municipal authorities and citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The organisers said sustained cooperation among all stakeholders would be crucial for improving sanitation services, maintaining public hygiene and making Agartala cleaner and healthier.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Agartala, October 1: Agartala Municipal Corporation on Thursday launched task force vehicles as part of efforts to strengthen cleanliness and sanitation services in the Tripura capital, with Mayor Dipak Majumder urging workers to continue their dedicated efforts and residents to contribute to the civic drive.
