Agartala, October 1:<\/strong> Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday launched three programmes aimed at expanding digital access among students, promoting technology-based solutions to governance challenges and strengthening the startup ecosystem in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programmes were launched at Women’s College here at an event organised by the Directorate of Information Technology. Saha unveiled the Tripura Seva First Innovation Challenge 2026, Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana for the academic year 2025-26 and Digi-SAPNE 3.0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chief minister also inaugurated the renovated Matangini Pritilata Sabhagriha on the college premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the event, Saha said technology and entrepreneurship could play an important role in creating new opportunities for the state’s youth. He stressed the need to encourage young people to develop innovative ideas and acquire skills that could help them become entrepreneurs and job creators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tripura Seva First Innovation Challenge 2026 has been launched under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. It will invite students, researchers, innovators and startups to develop solutions to problems related to governance and public service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The challenge is expected to promote technology-driven approaches to public services and encourage participation from different sections of the innovation ecosystem, officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana, launched for the 2025-26 academic year, focuses on improving digital connectivity for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 63,000 students have benefited from the scheme since it was introduced in 2019-20, while government expenditure under the programme has crossed Rs 31.62 crore, officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scheme facilitates access to smartphones and digital platforms, helping students use technology for education, digital learning and skill development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digi-SAPNE 3.0, the third edition of the Digital Startup Accelerator Program for North East, was also inaugurated. The programme is being implemented by AIC-SMUTBI in association with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the programme, technology-driven startups in the Northeast will receive mentorship, business acceleration assistance, investor connect and other ecosystem support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eight startups selected under Digi-SAPNE 2.0 were felicitated at the event. Officials said Cubo Bots, Acuvea Healthcare Technologies and HN Technovations LLP from Tripura had been selected under previous editions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Information Technology Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said the programmes would reinforce efforts in digital empowerment, innovation and entrepreneurship. He also highlighted plans for Regional Startup Hubs and expansion of the New Generation Innovation Network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman stressed the importance of educational institutions in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IT and Finance Secretary P K Goyal highlighted support under the Sector Agnostic Tripura Start-Up Policy 2024, while IT Director Jeya Ragul Geshan B outlined Startup Tripura, T-RISE, T-NEST and NGIN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
