Alongside expanding plantation areas, the programme focuses on farmer training, capacity building, improved processing facilities and value addition to help strengthen the rubber-based economy.<br><br>The initiative has recorded substantial growth since its launch. Against an initial cultivation target of 30,000 hectares, the coverage was subsequently expanded to 69,000 hectares in response to the programme\u2019s growing reach. Official figures from the department show that rubber cultivation now spans 69,944.45 hectares, with 89,895 beneficiaries gaining from the initiative.<br><br>Further measures are being taken to improve rubber sheet quality and enhance its market value. Plans include the establishment of 46 large-scale smokehouses and 25 integrated rubber processing centres, which are intended to strengthen processing infrastructure and expand value-addition opportunities for rubber producers.<br><br>The mission is being implemented through collaboration among multiple organisations, including the Tribal Welfare Department, NABARD, the Rubber Board, ATMA, MGNREGA, TFDPCL, TRPC Limited, TRP&amp;PTG and the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).<br><br>The SKOCH Award Silver acknowledges the efforts undertaken by the state to support long-term livelihood generation, financial independence and the growth of rubber-based economic activities among tribal and economically marginalised populations.
