Police from Sabroom police station reached the spot and subsequently called in a forensic team to examine the scene.<br><br>The forensic team arrived at around 6 pm and conducted a scientific examination. The body was later sent to the Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination and identification. Police sources said the body is expected to be kept for 72 hours to facilitate identification.<br><br>Preliminary information suggests that the man may have died around four days ago. His identity and the circumstances leading to his death have not yet been established.<br><br>Five Indian currency notes of Rs 100 denomination, totalling Rs 500, were reportedly found intact in the deceased\u2019s pocket. Police are investigating how the body reached the river and whether there was any foul play.<br><br>The discovery comes amid heightened security and preparations for Monday\u2019s Village Committee elections. However, there is no official indication so far linking the death to the election.
