K. Chakraborty and Director General of Police (in-charge) G.S. Rao on Thursday took stock of the arrangements in North Tripura for the September 28 Village Committee elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the inspection, the two officials visited the Strong Room at Jubarajnagar RD Block and the Counting Hall at Balidhum S.B. School. They reviewed the facilities and examined arrangements for safeguarding election materials and conducting polling and counting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A review meeting was later convened at the Conference Hall of the Office of the District Magistrate and Collector, North Tripura. Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai, Additional SP, Election Observer, Additional District Magistrate and Collector (PP), Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers and Sub-Divisional Police Officers attended the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting focused on the operational preparations for polling day, including security arrangements, logistics, monitoring systems and coordination among officials involved in the election process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Chakraborty instructed the concerned officials to ensure that all arrangements are completed in advance and that necessary measures are in place for a free, fair and peaceful election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The security deployment plan and monitoring mechanisms were also reviewed to ensure proper supervision of the electoral process during polling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The visit was part of the Election Commission\u2019s ongoing review of preparations across North Tripura ahead of the Village Committee elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voting will take place on September 28, with counting scheduled for October 5.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Agartala, September 24: State Election Commissioner Dr P.
