Jagadishwar Reddy on Tuesday inspected several strong rooms and counting centres across the district ahead of the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) Village Committee elections.<br><br>Polling for election-duty personnel began at 10 am across five blocks of Khowai district\u2014Tulashikhar, Padmabil, Kalyanpur, Teliamura and Mungiakami\u2014and was reported to be peaceful.<br><br>The district administration and police officials visited the Bharat Sardar Para Higher Secondary School under Tulashikhar Block, where a strong room and counting centre have been arranged.<br><br>Speaking to reporters, District Magistrate Rajat Panth said the inspection was being conducted in accordance with directions from the State Election Commission, under which the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police are required to jointly inspect the strong rooms and counting centres.<br><br>He said the officials found adequate security arrangements at the site, with CCTV cameras installed. The counting hall is currently under construction and is expected to be completed within the next one or two days. The DM also said the newly built school has adequate infrastructure for the election-related arrangements.<br><br>According to SP D. Jagadishwar Reddy, polling is being conducted across 53 polling stations in the district. In addition to the regular Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel, five companies of CAPF personnel have been deployed for election security.<br><br>Tulashikhar Block has the highest number of polling stations, with 24 stations, while Khowai has four, making a total of 28 polling stations in the area covered by the current deployment.<br><br>The SP said the area has been identified as relatively sensitive and security forces have been deployed accordingly.
