Tripura, September 19, 2026:<\/strong> Tensions are reportedly escalating in the Dhanpur Assembly constituency ahead of the upcoming ADC Village Council elections following a violent clash in Noapara under the Kaichakhla ADC Village area on the night of September 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident reportedly took place at around 10 p.m., leaving five individuals, identified as BJP workers and supporters, seriously injured. According to preliminary reports, the victims sustained injuries to their heads, hands and backs after allegedly being attacked with sharp weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon receiving information about the incident, Dhanpur MLA Bindu Debnath reportedly rushed to the spot. Following an assessment of the injured individuals’ critical condition, they were sent directly to Melaghar Sub-Divisional Hospital for medical treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to preliminary accounts, the clash reportedly began during a late-night election campaign. BJP workers were allegedly visiting households in the area when an argument broke out at a residence where a gathering involving intoxicating substances was reportedly taking place. The situation allegedly escalated following a dispute, leading to an attack by individuals suspected of being supporters of the Tipra Motha party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police from Sonamura Police Station reportedly arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. The situation could have escalated further as residents from surrounding villages reportedly gathered following news of the clash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MLA Bindu Debnath is reported to have remained in discussions with the police until approximately midnight in an effort to stabilize the situation. However, tensions reportedly remain high in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  5. One individual identified as R.R.B.P.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    According to the available account, one of the injured individuals is reportedly the brother of an election candidate. The alleged attackers were estimated to number between 15 and 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The incident has raised concerns over the security situation in the area as the ADC Village Council elections draw closer.
