{"id":26319,"date":"2026-09-16T14:41:38","date_gmt":"2026-09-16T14:41:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/?p=26319"},"modified":"2026-09-16T18:02:45","modified_gmt":"2026-09-16T18:02:45","slug":"nearly-5-lakh-yaba-tablets-found-in-truck-in-north-tripura","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/index.php\/2026\/09\/16\/nearly-5-lakh-yaba-tablets-found-in-truck-in-north-tripura\/","title":{"rendered":"Nearly 5 Lakh Yaba Tablets Found in Truck in North Tripura"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Agartala, September 16:<\/strong> A major narcotics consignment was intercepted in North Tripura after a joint team stopped a 12-wheel truck at Panisagar and recovered nearly five lakh Yaba tablets, officials said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Rupam Deka of Noagaon in Guwahati, Assam, was arrested following the recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The operation was conducted by Panisagar Police, Assam Rifles and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Agartala, based on intelligence regarding the transportation of a large quantity of narcotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The truck was intercepted at the Agnipasha naka point on the National Highway while travelling towards Agartala from Assam. Officials said it had entered Tripura through Churaibari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A detailed search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of approximately 250 packets containing Yaba tablets. The seized drugs weighed around 50 kg and were estimated to have an illegal market value of nearly Rs 40 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigators are now trying to establish the complete route of the consignment and identify the persons behind its transportation. The source of the drugs and their intended destination are also being investigated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officials said the possibility of an inter-state trafficking network being involved is being examined. The arrested driver is being interrogated to gather information about the alleged suppliers, transporters and prospective recipients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The movement of the truck through Churaibari and towards Agartala is also being examined as part of the investigation. Authorities are checking whether other vehicles or individuals were involved in the movement of the consignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The seizure has brought renewed focus on the use of interstate highways for transporting narcotics into Tripura. Security agencies are reviewing surveillance along key routes, entry points and checkpoints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officials said the investigation would continue to trace the wider network and determine the involvement of other suspects.
