Tripura, 13 Sep 2026:<\/strong> Tension prevailed at Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital on Sunday morning following the death of two tribal youths in a tragic motorcycle accident in the Mogbari area along the Assam\u2013Agartala National Highway on Saturday evening.

The deceased, identified as Sanjay Debbarma and Bishu Kumar Debbarma, were reportedly killed in the accident near the Teliamura Sub-Divisional Magistrate\u2019s Office.

The bodies were kept at the hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination. However, family members, relatives and local residents gathered outside the mortuary on Sunday and objected to the post-mortem, demanding that the actual circumstances behind the accident be established first.

According to those present, the family suspected that negligence or other factors may have been involved in the incident. When doctors, in the presence of police personnel, attempted to begin the post-mortem process, the family and local residents raised objections.

The situation became tense around 10 am, prompting Teli\u0101mura Police to remain at the hospital and initiate discussions with the family members and the gathering.

Later, around noon, MDC Jiten Debbarma arrived at the hospital and spoke with the family and members of the public. He said he had learned about the deaths on Saturday night and had subsequently spoken with the police. After receiving information that the families were reluctant to allow the post-mortem due to their suspicions, he came to the hospital on Sunday to help resolve the situation.

He also urged the police authorities to conduct a proper investigation into whether the deaths were solely the result of a road accident or whether any other circumstances were involved.

Following assurances from the police and the public representative that the matter would be thoroughly investigated, the family members and the crowd finally agreed to the post-mortem examination.

The bodies of Sanjay Debbarma and Bishu Kumar Debbarma were subsequently taken for post-mortem.

Questions, however, remain over the exact circumstances of the accident, including whether any negligence or other factors contributed to the deaths. The post-mortem report and police investigation are expected to provide further clarity on the cause and circumstances of the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
