{"id":26222,"date":"2026-09-12T13:54:25","date_gmt":"2026-09-12T13:54:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/?p=26222"},"modified":"2026-09-12T15:06:22","modified_gmt":"2026-09-12T15:06:22","slug":"emt-helps-deliver-baby-en-route-to-hospital-in-tripura","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/index.php\/2026\/09\/12\/emt-helps-deliver-baby-en-route-to-hospital-in-tripura\/","title":{"rendered":"EMT Helps Deliver Baby En Route to Hospital in Tripura"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Agartala, September 1<\/strong>2: Quick action by an emergency medical technician ensured the safe delivery of a baby inside an ambulance in Tripura after a woman went into labour while being transported to hospital, officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incident occurred on Friday when <strong>25-year-old Pusti Rung Reang<\/strong>, wife of Janmajoy Reang and a resident of Krishnatilla, was travelling from the <strong>Kumarghat Primary Health Centre to Unakoti District Hospital<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the delivery becoming imminent before the ambulance could reach its destination, <strong>EMT Prasenjit Sukla Baidya<\/strong> assessed the situation and proceeded to conduct the delivery inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The baby was delivered safely, and both the mother and newborn were reported to be in good health. Officials praised Baidya for remaining composed and responding promptly during the emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The case is reportedly the <strong>fourth ambulance delivery successfully handled by Baidya<\/strong>, reflecting his experience in managing childbirth emergencies during patient transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incident has highlighted the importance of trained EMTs, particularly in cases involving patients from rural and remote areas. Such personnel may have to provide immediate medical assistance when reaching a hospital within the required time is not possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ambulance is part of Tripura&#8217;s <strong>102 Ambulance Project<\/strong>, launched in March 2020 under a memorandum of understanding between the <strong>Community Action Through Motivation Programme (CAMP)<\/strong> and the <strong>National Health Mission (NHM)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project was inaugurated by then Chief Minister <strong>Biplab Kumar Deb<\/strong> to strengthen emergency transportation services and improve access to healthcare across Tripura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officials said the latest incident reflected the broader role of ambulance services in emergency healthcare.
