Lalduhoma, Saha said, agreed with the proposal and conveyed his willingness to visit Agartala for talks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before finalising a meeting between the two Chief Ministers, however, both sides decided to allow officials to hold initial consultations and examine the issues involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saha said he was informed that Mizoram officials had visited Tripura and held discussions with their counterparts. He, however, said he was yet to receive a comprehensive report on the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI was informed yesterday that Mizoram officials had come and discussions were held. I have only been told that talks took place,\u201d Saha told reporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chief Minister said he did not want to comment on the substance of the discussions until the detailed report was placed before him. He said the next course of action would become clearer once the officials submit their findings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saha remained positive about the prospects of resolving the dispute, stressing that negotiations and mutual understanding were essential for addressing the differences between the two states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere will definitely be a resolution,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Tripura-Mizoram boundary dispute has remained unresolved for years, particularly over questions relating to demarcation and administrative jurisdiction. Disagreements have occasionally affected residents in border areas and underscored the need for greater coordination between the neighbouring administrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The latest talks mark an attempt to revive structured engagement at the official level. The preliminary consultations are expected to help both governments identify the principal areas of disagreement as well as possible points of convergence before the issue is taken up at the political level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A successful initial process could pave the way for Saha and Lalduhoma to meet and discuss the matter directly. Such an engagement would provide an opportunity to address outstanding concerns and explore a framework acceptable to both states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The renewed dialogue also comes amid wider efforts to improve cooperation among northeastern states. Resolving long-standing boundary disputes through negotiations could contribute to greater stability and help protect the interests of communities living along disputed border stretches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The immediate focus is now on the report of the officials who participated in the preliminary discussions.
