{"id":25927,"date":"2026-09-03T18:28:36","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T18:28:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/?p=25927"},"modified":"2026-09-03T18:32:31","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T18:32:31","slug":"2-78-kg-gold-allegation-bishalgarh-oc-second-oc-and-constable-closed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/index.php\/2026\/09\/03\/2-78-kg-gold-allegation-bishalgarh-oc-second-oc-and-constable-closed\/","title":{"rendered":"2.78 Kg Gold Allegation: Bishalgarh OC, second OC and constable closed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bishalgarh: Sept 03:<\/strong> The Tripura Police have taken administrative action against three personnel of Bishalgarh Police Station following allegations involving 2 kg 780 grams of gold allegedly taken during a vehicle search in February.<br><br>The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bishalgarh Police Station, the Second OC and a constable have reportedly been closed in connection with the matter. Earlier, Sub-Inspector Banijay Reang was suspended after his name surfaced in connection with the incident.<br><br>The alleged incident took place on February 21, 2026. According to the case records, Bishalgarh Police Station registered Case No. 73\/2026 on September 1 following a direction from the High Court. The case has been registered under Sections 126(2), 308(3) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.<br><br>The complainant, Billal Mia of Madhyapara in Melaghar, alleged that police personnel stopped and searched the vehicle in which he was travelling and took possession of gold weighing 2 kg 780 grams. The vehicle mentioned in the case records is a Maruti Eeco bearing registration number TR07EO6360.<br><br>Billal alleged that he initially approached Bishalgarh Police Station to lodge a complaint but that a case was not registered. He subsequently approached other police stations, including Sonamura Police Station, with the same complaint, but alleged that no case was registered there either.<br><br>The matter was eventually taken to the High Court. Following the court&#8217;s direction, the case was registered at Bishalgarh Police Station on September 1.<br><br>The case names Inspector Bijay Das, the then OC of Bishalgarh Police Station; SI Banijay Reang; SI Supratim Deb; and Constable Bahar Mia as accused.<br><br>The investigation has been assigned to the Crime Branch under the supervision of Sipahijala District Superintendent of Police Bijoy Debbarma.<br><br>The investigation will now have to establish what happened to the alleged 2.78 kg of gold, whether it was lawfully seized, whether any seizure documentation exists, and what role each of the accused personnel played in the incident.<br><br>The allegations remain subject to investigation, and the accused are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in accordance with law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bishalgarh: Sept 03: The Tripura Police have taken administrative action against three personnel of Bishalgarh Police Station following allegations involving 2 kg 780 grams of gold allegedly taken during a vehicle search in February.
