Minister Bikash Debbarma had visited the protest site and assured the protesters that their issues would be discussed positively.<br><br>During Tuesday\u2019s meeting, the delegation held detailed discussions with the minister and senior officials, including the Secretary and Director of the Tribal Welfare Department, as well as officials from various line departments, the Law Department and the SB Department.<br><br>Speaking to the media after the meeting, Kalajoy Tripura said the minister had taken their demands seriously and assured them that steps would be taken towards resolving their problems. He expressed hope that the issues raised by the former cadres would be addressed following the discussions.<br><br>Minister Bikash Debbarma said the meeting was held as scheduled following the August 28 assurance. He said the government was examining the demands and working towards solutions through the existing administrative process.<br><br>Addressing concerns that the demands of surrendered militants had remained unfulfilled despite earlier assurances from the Prime Minister and the Central Government, Debbarma said several commitments under the tripartite agreement signed in Delhi were already being implemented.<br><br>He pointed to a \u20b9250-crore package and said the implementation of the various provisions requires time because government procedures and systems have to be followed.<br><br>The minister also stated that 91 cadres have already received the benefits and facilities they were entitled to, while assuring that the government would continue examining the remaining demands.<br><br>Debbarma further appealed to the representatives not to resort to road blockades, saying that issues can be resolved through dialogue and discussions at the table rather than by disrupting roads.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tripura, 01 Sep 2026: A delegation of the NLFT (PD) group, led by Kalajoy Tripura, met Tripura\u2019s Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma at the Civil Secretariat on Tuesday, September 1.
