{"id":25662,"date":"2026-08-27T13:30:03","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:30:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/?p=25662"},"modified":"2026-08-27T13:30:35","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T13:30:35","slug":"gmltea-submits-five-point-demands-seeking-designation-change-promotions-pay-benefits-and-adequate-laboratory-manpower","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/index.php\/2026\/08\/27\/gmltea-submits-five-point-demands-seeking-designation-change-promotions-pay-benefits-and-adequate-laboratory-manpower\/","title":{"rendered":"GMLTEA submits five-point demands seeking designation change, promotions, pay benefits and adequate laboratory manpower"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Agartala: Aug 27<\/strong>: The Government\/General Medical Laboratory Technologists Employees Association (GMLTEA) today submitted a five-point charter of demands to the Director of Health Services, seeking changes in designation, promotion, pay benefits, adequate manpower and a structured career progression system for Medical Laboratory Technology professionals.<br><br>The association demanded that \u201cLaboratory Technician\u201d and \u201cLaboratory Technician (Blood)\u201d be redesignated as \u201cMedical Laboratory Technologist\u201d and \u201cMedical Laboratory Technologist (Blood)\u201d, respectively.<br><br>It sought priority promotion for employees who have completed 10 years or more of service and demanded a career structure providing at least three regular promotions during their service.<br><br>GMLTEA also demanded professional parity and dignity with nursing professionals, an appropriate Pay Level\/Pay Scale, Dress Grant and Risk\/Hazardous Duty Allowance considering the nature of laboratory work.<br><br>The association called for adequate recruitment of Laboratory Technicians\/Medical Laboratory Technologists at PHCs, CHCs, Sub-Divisional Hospitals and District Hospitals to ensure 24-hour laboratory services.
