Maharashtra<\/strong>: A dispute reportedly over the monthly EMI of an iPhone ended in a devastating tragedy at Khawadya Hill in the Tisgaon area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Friday, August 21, after three members of a family died in a fall from the hill.

According to police, Kunal Chandgude had reportedly been struggling to pay the instalments for an iPhone he had purchased. Following an argument with his father, Murlidhar Chandgude, 48, over the EMI payment, Kunal left home and went to Khawadya Hill at around 10 am.

Worried about their son, Murlidhar and his wife Sangeeta followed him to the hilltop and tried to persuade him to return home. After the incident was reported, police, fire brigade personnel and local residents also rushed to the spot.

For nearly three hours, several people attempted to convince Kunal to move away from the edge. Fire brigade personnel reportedly prepared a safety net below the hill, while local residents repeatedly appealed to him to step back.

Former Tisgaon sarpanch Sanjay Jadhav was among those who tried to counsel Kunal. According to him, people urged Kunal to think about his mother, his future and his life. Some reportedly even offered to arrange an iPhone 15 Pro for him if he came down safely.

However, the efforts failed.

At around 1 pm, Murlidhar reportedly moved closer to his son in an attempt to bring him back. Police said Kunal went over the edge, prompting his father to reach out and try to save him. Both reportedly lost their balance and fell into the gorge.

Sangeeta, who witnessed the fall, also reportedly fell from the hill moments later.

All three died in the incident.

The bodies were recovered and sent for post-mortem examinations. The Waluj MIDC police have launched an investigation into the incident, while further legal proceedings are underway.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
