{"id":25455,"date":"2026-08-22T08:30:36","date_gmt":"2026-08-22T08:30:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/?p=25455"},"modified":"2026-08-22T08:44:32","modified_gmt":"2026-08-22T08:44:32","slug":"29-kg-of-dry-cannabis-seized-in-mungiakami-two-arrested","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/index.php\/2026\/08\/22\/29-kg-of-dry-cannabis-seized-in-mungiakami-two-arrested\/","title":{"rendered":"29 Kg of Dry Cannabis Seized in Mungiakami, Two Arrested"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tripura, 22 August 2026<\/strong>:\u00a0 Mungiakami Police seized around 29 kg of dry cannabis and detained two persons during an operation at the Mungiakami Railway Station Road on Thursday night, August 21.<br><br>According to Mungiakami Police Station Officer-in-Charge Raju Baidya, Sub-Inspector Rajat Mani Jamatia and other police personnel were conducting routine checking in the area when they noticed two persons behaving suspiciously. The police detained them and found that they were carrying three bags.<br><br>Following the prescribed procedures under the NDPS Act, police searched the bags and recovered approximately 29 kg of cannabis.<br><br>A case has been registered at Mungiakami Police Station under Case No. 15\/2026. Police said the accused have been booked under Sections 20(b)(ii)(C), 27(A) and 29 of the NDPS Act.<br><br>The seized cannabis is estimated to have a market value of around \u20b94 lakh, according to the police.<br><br>The two detained persons are being questioned to determine the source of the cannabis and its intended destination. Police are also investigating whether others were involved in the alleged trafficking network.<br><br>The operation was led by SI Rajat Mani Jamatia.
