{"id":25423,"date":"2026-08-21T05:11:28","date_gmt":"2026-08-21T05:11:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/?p=25423"},"modified":"2026-08-21T05:12:53","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T05:12:53","slug":"abvp-protests-at-dharmanagar-sp-office-over-churaibari-clash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/index.php\/2026\/08\/21\/abvp-protests-at-dharmanagar-sp-office-over-churaibari-clash\/","title":{"rendered":"ABVP Protests at Dharmanagar SP Office Over Churaibari Clash"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tripura, 21 August 2026<\/strong>: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest outside the office of the Superintendent of Police in Dharmanagar on Thursday, demanding the immediate arrest of those allegedly involved in the clash at Churaibari on August 15.<br><br>ABVP members, led by the student leadership of the organisation\u2019s North Tripura district and Dharmanagar unit, gathered outside the SP\u2019s office and raised demands for swift legal action against those accused in the incident.<br><br>According to ABVP North Tripura district convenor Aniket Deb, the organisation withdrew its protest after receiving an assurance from the Additional Superintendent of Police of North Tripura that those allegedly involved in the attack on ABVP workers would be brought under the law.<br><br>Deb said ABVP would hold a programme on August 25, when students across Tripura would gather at Churaibari and hoist the national flag again. He claimed that more than 5,000 students would participate in the programme.<br><br>He further alleged that ABVP workers had been obstructed and threatened during the August 15 incident and said the organisation would continue working for students and society. He also rejected allegations raised against ABVP workers in connection with a police complaint, describing them as baseless.<br><br>Deb warned that if the accused were not arrested, ABVP would launch wider protests across Tripura, including road blockades.<br><br>Meanwhile, police said that a case was registered at Churaibari Police Station on August 15 as Case No. 29\/2026. The Additional SP said police had taken prompt action after registration of the case and that the primary accused persons were arrested within 12 hours.<br><br>According to the police, continuous raids are being conducted to apprehend the remaining suspects.
