Tripura, 20 August 2026<\/strong>: The Tripura Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, has approved a series of recruitment proposals across several government departments, including the appointment of 916 police constables, 219 Lower Division Clerks and 27 technical staff under the General Administration (Printing and Stationery) Department.

Speaking at a press conference, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said the Cabinet has taken several important decisions aimed at filling vacancies and creating new employment opportunities for the youth of the state.

According to the minister, 27 technical posts under the General Administration (Printing and Stationery) Department will be filled through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT).

The Cabinet has also approved the recruitment of 219 Lower Division Clerks (LDCs) under the Health and Family Welfare Department through JRBT.

In the Home Department, the government has approved the recruitment of 916 police constables, including posts for both male and female candidates.

Additionally, 15 LDC posts under the Tribal Welfare Department will be recruited through the Joint Recruitment Board.

Another major decision concerns higher education. The Cabinet has approved the creation of 200 Assistant Professor posts for General Degree Colleges across Tripura. The appointments will be made subsequently following approval from the Finance Department.

The minister said the new posts are intended to strengthen teaching capacity in General Degree Colleges across the state.

Sri Sri University to be Established in Tripura

In another significant decision, the Tripura Cabinet has approved the establishment of a new Sri Sri University in the state.

Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said the proposal was submitted by the Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Trust, which is associated with educational institutions and social initiatives across the country. The Cabinet has given its approval for establishing the university in Tripura.

The minister expressed hope that the recruitment initiatives and the new educational institution would create further opportunities for the state’s youth.

He said the decisions were taken under the leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and expressed confidence that the recruitment drive would benefit young people across Tripura.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
