{"id":25340,"date":"2026-08-18T18:55:28","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T18:55:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/?p=25340"},"modified":"2026-08-18T18:57:11","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T18:57:11","slug":"durga-puja-ahead-tripura-traffic-police-launch-special-drive-to-ease-agartala-traffic-congestion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/index.php\/2026\/08\/18\/durga-puja-ahead-tripura-traffic-police-launch-special-drive-to-ease-agartala-traffic-congestion\/","title":{"rendered":"Durga Puja Ahead: Tripura Traffic Police Launch Special Drive to Ease Agartala Traffic Congestion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Agartala, August 18, 2026<\/strong>: Ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja festivities, Tripura Traffic Police conducted a special enforcement and awareness drive in Agartala on Tuesday evening to keep the city free from traffic congestion.<br><br>The drive was carried out at Old Motor Stand and other areas, where traffic personnel detained several vehicles for alleged violations, including the use of modified silencers, unauthorised lighting and fog lights, private vehicles being used for commercial passenger trips, and vehicles operating with permits that are not intended for city operations.<br><br>According to a traffic police officer, enforcement against such violations has been continuing regularly. The officer said particular attention is being given to vehicles entering Agartala from outside areas and contributing to congestion.<br><br>The officer also highlighted the increasing presence of electric autos registered at panchayat addresses but operating inside the city. According to the traffic police, such vehicles are contributing significantly to traffic congestion in Agartala.<br><br>The officer said enforcement against these vehicles has been underway for around 10\u201312 days, with detained vehicles being sent to the concerned office for further action before release. However, as similar vehicles continue to enter the city, the police have intensified the drive.<br><br>During Tuesday&#8217;s operation, traffic personnel also took action against commercial vehicles using coloured lights, motorcycles and scooters fitted with prohibited fog lights, vehicles operating on unauthorised or short permits, and vehicles registered under panchayat areas but operating within the city.<br><br>The traffic police said illegal parking is also being targeted as part of regular enforcement.<br><br>The officer said the latest drive combines awareness and enforcement, with the primary objective of ensuring smoother traffic movement and providing the public with a safer and congestion-free environment during the upcoming festive season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Agartala, August 18, 2026: Ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja festivities, Tripura Traffic Police conducted a special enforcement and awareness drive in Agartala on Tuesday evening to keep the city free from traffic congestion.
