{"id":25333,"date":"2026-08-18T16:54:31","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T16:54:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/?p=25333"},"modified":"2026-08-18T16:55:26","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T16:55:26","slug":"tripura-man-arrested-for-alleged-rape-of-minor-with-disabilities-sent-to-14-day-judicial-custody","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/index.php\/2026\/08\/18\/tripura-man-arrested-for-alleged-rape-of-minor-with-disabilities-sent-to-14-day-judicial-custody\/","title":{"rendered":"Tripura: Man arrested for alleged rape of minor with disabilities, sent to 14-day judicial custody"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tripura, 18 August 2026:<\/strong> A man was arrested and remanded to 14 days in judicial custody today for allegedly raping a minor girl with disabilities in the Manubazar police station area under Sabroom sub-division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The accused, identified as Jaharlal Debnath, was produced before the Special POCSO Court in Belonia, which ordered his judicial custody for 14 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sabroom SDPO Diptanu Biswas said police received information about the alleged sexual assault last night and subsequently received a written complaint at Manubazar Police Station. A special police team was formed and sent to the reported location. During a search operation, the team traced and detained Debnath, brought him to the police station and formally arrested him after completing the required legal procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police registered a case under relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with provisions applicable to offences against persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The accused was produced before the court on Tuesday.
