Agartala, August 17, 2026:<\/strong> The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) has decided to absorb and regularise 13 employees working on a contractual basis as LDC-cum-Computer Assistants under the council.

An official notification issued by the office of the Chief Executive Officer, TTAADC, on March 10, 2026, stated that the decision was taken following a resolution of the Executive Committee at its meeting on February 19 and approval from the Competent Authority on February 20.

According to the notification, the services of the concerned employees will be counted from their respective dates of initial appointment, dating back to 2012. The decision therefore recognises their long period of contractual service while regularising them against LDC posts.

Following regularisation, the employees will receive an entry pay of \u20b921,400 for the post of Lower Division Clerk (LDC). The notification also mentions a pay scale of \u20b95,700\u2013\u20b924,000, Grade Pay of \u20b92,200 and Level-7 under the Pay Matrix, 2018. However, the revised pay structure will take effect from the date of issuance of the notification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The employees, who are posted in various TTAADC departments and education-related inspection offices, have been directed to join their respective workplaces in their new capacity as LDCs.

They were required to report for duty by March 12, 2026. The notification warned that failure to join within the stipulated period could result in cancellation of their absorption and regularisation.

The order has brought renewed attention to the issue of regularisation of long-serving contractual employees under the TTAADC. The instruction to count their service from their initial joining dates in 2012 is particularly significant.

The move may also raise questions about the policy, guidelines and administrative procedures followed in the regularisation process, as well as whether similar contractual employees working under the ADC could receive comparable consideration in the future. The notification, however, specifically cites approval from the Competent Authority.
