Agartala: Aug 17.<\/strong> Tipra Motha Party founder Pradyot Bikram Kishore Manikya Debbarma on Monday warned that the party would have to decide its \u201cown path\u201d if the Tiprasa Accord is not implemented, as the party reviewed its strategy ahead of the upcoming Village Committee elections.

The warning came at a crucial meeting held at Manikya Court here in city under Bubagra Pradyot\u2019s leadership. The meeting discussed the party\u2019s organisational functioning, its strategy for the upcoming elections and its position on the alliance with the BJP-led government in the state.

Senior party leaders, including Party’s President Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl, TTAADC Chief Executive Member Runiel Debbarma, Minister of State Brishaketu Debbarma, Executive Member for Education C.K. Jamatia, former CEM and MDC Purna Chandra Jamatia, MLAs and MDCs attended the meeting.

Addressing the media after the meeting, Pradyot said several developments taking place in the state needed to be brought to the attention of party leaders so that necessary steps could be taken and the party\u2019s position clarified.

\u201cThere are a lot of developments taking place in the state, which need to be addressed to the party leaders and certain steps need to be taken and the position clarified,\u201d he said, adding that if the leadership was not informed about developments, the concerns of people at the grassroots would not be communicated.

On his discussions with BJP leadership in Delhi, Pradyot said the talks were limited to the implementation of the Tripartite Tiprasa Accord.

\u201cIf I only seek for the betterment of a few MLAs and MDCs and not for the entire indigenous people, then I have no right to call myself Bubagra,\u201d he said.

Sending a message to the Central leadership, he said, \u201cIf they are serious about the Accord, they should implement the Tiprasa Accord or the party will have to decide the next course of action.\u201d

Referring to the TTAADC election results, Pradyot alleged that attempts had been made to weaken the party and said some MLAs and MDCs had gone against him or left the party.

He said he knew who was behind the developments and the personal attacks against him, but added that he was ready to forget all of it if the Tiprasa Accord was implemented on the ground.

Pradyot further said appointing 14 leaders as BAC chairmen, making two leaders ministers with important portfolios and providing an additional financial package might satisfy a few leaders, but would not change the situation of the state\u2019s 14 lakh indigenous people.

He warned that if the concerns of the indigenous people were not addressed through implementation of the Accord, Tipra Motha would have to choose its own political course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
