Agartala, August 16, 2026:<\/strong> A youth-led \u201cClean Tripura Campaign\u201d was organised in Agartala on Independence Day to promote environmental responsibility, climate awareness and sustainable practices among young people.

The campaign was organised by YCIC Tripura, in collaboration with Twimuk Collective and the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC). Young volunteers from schools and colleges participated in a cleanliness drive, actively contributing to keeping public surroundings clean despite the hot weather.

The initiative was coordinated by Anubhab Sil, Climate Champion, along with Ishika Chakma, State Co-Lead, YCIC Tripura and former Climate Champion, NYCC, and Jora Debbarma, State Co-Lead, YCIC Tripura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representing Twimuk Collective, Mongsanu Mog, Convenor, participated in the initiative along with executive members Pratyay Sur, Sakshi Karmakar, Simon Debbarma and Tannisha Deb, besides other members and volunteers.

Following the clean-up activity, the organisers held a \u201cDiscussion Under the Trees\u201d, providing an informal platform for young participants to discuss climate advocacy, sustainable green practices, environmental responsibility and the role of youth in addressing local environmental challenges.

During the discussion, participants highlighted that climate action does not always require large-scale initiatives. Small and consistent steps at the community level, including responsible waste management, maintaining public spaces, reducing waste and adopting sustainable practices, can collectively contribute to long-term environmental change.

The participation of students and young volunteers reflected growing interest among Tripura\u2019s youth in environmental issues and community-led action. Organisers urged participants to carry the spirit of the campaign beyond the event and incorporate environmentally responsible practices into their daily lives.

The organisers also expressed gratitude to the Agartala Municipal Corporation for its support and collaboration and appreciated the volunteers for contributing their time and energy to the campaign.

The Clean Tripura Campaign was envisioned not simply as a cleanliness drive, but as an initiative to bring young people together, encourage meaningful conversations on environmental issues and strengthen collective responsibility towards Tripura\u2019s communities and natural surroundings.
