{"id":24890,"date":"2026-08-06T13:15:30","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T13:15:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/?p=24890"},"modified":"2026-08-06T13:18:00","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T13:18:00","slug":"tripura-youth-congress-demands-probe-into-alleged-misconduct-with-gb-hospital-patient","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/index.php\/2026\/08\/06\/tripura-youth-congress-demands-probe-into-alleged-misconduct-with-gb-hospital-patient\/","title":{"rendered":"Tripura Youth Congress Demands Probe into Alleged Misconduct with GB Hospital Patient"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tripura, 06 August 2026: <\/strong>A delegation of the Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress on Thursday submitted a deputation to the Director of the Health Department, demanding an impartial inquiry into the alleged mistreatment of a patient at GB Pant Hospital.<br><br>Addressing the media, Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress President Neel Kamal Saha alleged that a dental patient from Dharmanagar was denied treatment after addressing a doctor as &#8220;Dada.&#8221; According to Saha, the doctor reportedly insisted on being addressed as &#8220;Baba,&#8221; and the patient was allegedly not attended to after refusing to do so.<br><br>He further claimed that despite more than 24 hours having passed since the incident, no action or investigation had been initiated against the concerned doctor. Saha also criticised the condition of GB Hospital, pointing to recent waterlogging inside the premises following heavy rainfall as an example of poor healthcare infrastructure.<br><br>The Youth Congress also alleged that when the patient approached the police, he was advised to apologise to the doctor by touching his feet. Calling the entire episode &#8220;shameful&#8221; and &#8220;unacceptable,&#8221; Saha demanded an immediate and fair investigation.<br><br>He warned that if the allegations are found to be true, the doctor should be suspended without delay. The Youth Congress also urged Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who is himself a doctor, to intervene and ensure appropriate action. Saha said the organisation would launch a larger agitation if no action is taken by the authorities.<br><br>Note: The allegations were made by the Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress.
