New Delhi, 31 July 2026:<\/strong> The daughter of a Delhi Police Sub-Inspector (SI) who was injured during the clashes between police and protesters at Jantar Mantar has shared an emotional account of the incident, stating that her family has approached the Supreme Court seeking justice.

Speaking about her father’s background, she said he served for 15 years as a Marine Commando in the Indian Navy before joining the Delhi Police. According to her, he was deployed on the front line near the barricades at the main protest site, where a large crowd had gathered. She added that her father had often told the family that the demonstration no longer appeared to be solely a student protest, claiming that several antisocial elements had become involved.

Describing the incident, she alleged that on the afternoon of the 25th, her father was dragged by a violent mob near the stage at Jantar Mantar and was nearly lynched. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, where he remained unconscious for nearly four hours.

She recalled that around 10 p.m., her father’s colleagues brought him home, and his police uniform was completely soaked in blood. Witnessing him in that condition, she said, was one of the most painful moments for the family.

Expressing disappointment over social media reactions, she said she was distressed to see her father being labelled a “criminal” despite his injuries. She further claimed that she later learned the individuals accused of attacking him had approached the Supreme Court and filed complaints against her father and other police personnel.

Feeling compelled to defend her father’s reputation, she said she, along with other police families, also approached the Supreme Court. According to her, an advocate agreed to represent their case and assured them that, like every citizen of the country, they too have an equal right to seek justice.

The daughter’s statements reflect her family’s version of events. The matter is currently under legal consideration, and the allegations and claims are subject to judicial proceedings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
