Tripura, 23 July 2026<\/strong>: Marking the 72nd Foundation Day of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), educational materials were distributed to 85 underprivileged and deserving students in Khowai on Thursday. The initiative aimed to encourage education among children from economically weaker families and support their academic journey.

The students received essential learning materials, including notebooks, pens, pencils, geometry boxes, and other stationery items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme was attended by BJP Khowai District President Samir Kumar Das as the chief guest. Other dignitaries present included Khowai Mandal President Anukul Chandra Das, BMS Khowai District Working President Prabal Dutta, Bus and Jeep Drivers’ Association Secretary Suman Ghosh, President Amit Debnath, and Small Goods Vehicle Drivers’ Association leader Prabir Das, along with several other BMS office-bearers and members.

Addressing the gathering, the speakers emphasized that education is the foundation of a nation’s progress and stressed the need to ensure every child has access to quality education. They stated that, besides safeguarding workers’ rights, BMS remains committed to social welfare initiatives and will continue organizing educational support programmes in the future.

Students and their parents appreciated the initiative, noting that rising educational expenses have made such assistance particularly valuable for many families. The programme, organized as part of the BMS 72nd Foundation Day celebrations, received a positive response from the local community.
