Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Monday inaugurated the distribution of piglets to livestock-rearing families and bicycles to female football players at a programme organised by the Baikunthanath Tarkabushan Memorial Trust. The event was held at the Unakoti Kalakshetra Auditorium in the evening and witnessed the participation of beneficiaries, local residents, public representatives and officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initiative aims to strengthen rural livelihoods while encouraging young women to actively participate in sports. Under the programme, piglets were distributed to livestock-rearing families to help them enhance income-generating opportunities through animal husbandry. The Governor handed over the piglets to selected beneficiaries and expressed hope that the initiative would contribute to improving the economic condition of rural households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In another significant gesture, bicycles were distributed to female football players to facilitate easier access to training centres and educational institutions. The bicycles are expected to help the young athletes continue their sporting pursuits with greater convenience while balancing their academic commitments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing the gathering, Governor Nallu appreciated the efforts of the Baikunthanath Tarkabushan Memorial Trust in undertaking programmes that directly benefit the community. He said such initiatives play an important role in empowering economically weaker sections and promoting self-reliance among rural families. The Governor also highlighted the importance of encouraging girls to participate in sports, describing sports as an effective means of building confidence, discipline and leadership qualities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the assistance provided and encouraged young athletes to pursue their goals with dedication and determination. The Governor also called upon voluntary organisations, educational institutions and local communities to continue supporting initiatives that promote inclusive development and youth empowerment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Representatives of the Baikunthanath Tarkabushan Memorial Trust said the organisation remains committed to implementing welfare programmes focused on livelihood generation, education and sports promotion. They expressed gratitude to the Governor for gracing the occasion and motivating the beneficiaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
