He said Anurag Dhankar was one of the finest police officers, known for his integrity and self-respect, who had risen through the ranks from SDPO to DGP.<br><br>The Leader of the Opposition questioned the circumstances surrounding the incident and claimed that honest and efficient IAS and IPS officers in the state had been facing mental pressure, loss of professional independence, and attacks on their self-respect over the past several years. He alleged that these factors could have played a role in the incident.<br><br>Chaudhury further urged the authorities to preserve the DGP&#8217;s body until his son, who is reportedly in Canada, arrives to pay his last respects. He said the post-mortem examination should be conducted thereafter.<br><br>He also demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident under the leadership of the sitting Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court to determine the circumstances that led to the DGP&#8217;s death.
