Police have arrested the driver of the vehicle used in the crime, while the prime accused remains on the run.<br><br>According to the complaint filed at the Khowai women\u2019s police station, the survivor left her home around 10:30 a.m. to attend school. As she reached near Anukul Thakur\u2019s ashram, two youths travelling in a car forcibly pulled her inside. In the moving vehicle, one of them, identified as Rajesh Debnath, allegedly sexually assaulted the girl. The other accused, who assisted in the abduction, has been named as Pradip Debnath in a video account of the incident. After the assault, the accused pushed the traumatised survivor out of the car and fled the spot.<br><br>A distraught girl managed to flag down an auto-rickshaw. The auto driver immediately contacted her family, who rushed to the spot and took her to the police station to lodge a formal complaint.<br><br>Acting swiftly on the complaint, police traced the car and arrested its driver, Ashish Debnath. He was produced before a local court on Saturday, which remanded him to judicial custody. Investigators confirmed that prime accused Rajesh Debnath has been absconding since the crime, and multiple teams are working to nab him.<br><br>\u201cThe survivor is receiving necessary support, and a thorough investigation is underway.
