{"id":23904,"date":"2026-07-10T15:10:18","date_gmt":"2026-07-10T15:10:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/?p=23904"},"modified":"2026-07-10T15:12:16","modified_gmt":"2026-07-10T15:12:16","slug":"sabroom-admin-inspects-manu-feni-river-embankments-orders-pre-monsoon-repairs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aguli.in\/index.php\/2026\/07\/10\/sabroom-admin-inspects-manu-feni-river-embankments-orders-pre-monsoon-repairs\/","title":{"rendered":"Sabroom Admin inspects Manu, Feni river embankments; Orders pre-monsoon repairs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Agartala: Jul 10.<\/strong> The Sabroom Sub-Divisional Administration has stepped up flood preparedness by inspecting embankments along the Manu and Feni rivers at Manughat and ordering immediate repairs to vulnerable sections ahead of the monsoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The inspection was conducted on Friday by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Suman Rakshit, a day after he chaired a flood preparedness meeting with officials of various line departments, security agencies and other stakeholders to review the administration&#8217;s contingency plan for possible flooding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the inspection, officials detected rat holes, soil erosion and minor structural defects at several points of the embankments. Taking note of the deficiencies, the SDM directed the concerned department to carry out immediate repair and reinforcement works to ensure the embankments remain safe during the monsoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rakshit said the embankments at Daspara and Gobindamath in the Manughat area are presently stable, but all vulnerable stretches will be strengthened before heavy rainfall and rising river levels to minimise any risk to lives and property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The inspection was attended by DCM Ratan Das, Executive Engineer Bikash Tripura of the Public Works Department, PWD SDO Dhrubajyoti Debnath, Water Resources Department SDO Partha Debbarma, Junior Engineer Shibu Prasad Das and other officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sabroom is among the flood-prone subdivisions of South Tripura, where rising water levels in the Manu and Feni rivers frequently threaten low-lying areas during the monsoon.
