Agartala, July 10:<\/strong> Tripura achieved another milestone in agricultural exports on Friday as Agriculture and Farmers\u2019 Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath<\/strong> flagged off a fresh consignment of organic produce destined for Dubai<\/strong>, marking the state\u2019s entry into the marketing network of Lulu Retail<\/strong>, one of the Gulf region\u2019s largest retail chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The export consignment comprises 1,300 organic scented lemons<\/strong>, 182 kilograms of Kalikhasa aromatic rice<\/strong>, and 350 Queen pineapples<\/strong>, sourced from Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) in Khowai, South Tripura and Gomati districts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flagging off the shipment, Nath described the export as a testament to the hard work and commitment of Tripura\u2019s farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is a shining example of the dedication and high-quality production of our farmers. Their efforts are now finding recognition in international markets,\u201d the Minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that Lulu Retail<\/strong> operates an extensive retail network across the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and sources food products from more than 85 countries<\/strong>, offering Tripura\u2019s organic produce access to a vast international consumer base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Minister said the latest export builds on Tripura\u2019s growing presence in global markets. Earlier, the state successfully exported 10,000 kilograms of organic dried bird\u2019s eye chilli to Germany<\/strong>, demonstrating increasing international demand for its certified organic products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nath said the State Government is actively promoting organic farming, quality certification, branding and market linkages<\/strong> to enable farmers to secure better prices and enhance their incomes. He added that expanding overseas markets remains a key component of the government’s strategy to strengthen the agricultural economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting Tripura\u2019s improving investment climate, the Minister referred to the recently concluded Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026<\/strong>, where several investment agreements were signed across multiple sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Nath, the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL)<\/strong> signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 23,539 crore<\/strong>, while the Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency (TREDA)<\/strong> secured MoUs valued at Rs 13,080 crore<\/strong>. The agriculture and horticulture sectors also attracted investment commitments worth Rs 1,698.4 crore<\/strong>, with additional proposals expected in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials said the Dubai shipment represents more than a routine export. It reflects Tripura\u2019s emergence as a promising hub for organic agriculture and agri-business<\/strong>, strengthening the state’s reputation in international markets while creating new opportunities for farmers to participate in the global value chain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
