Agartala, July 7:<\/strong> In a significant move aimed at strengthening patriotism and national values among students, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha<\/strong> has announced that all schools across the state will begin their daily academic session with the full rendition of the National Song “Vande Mataram”<\/strong>, followed by the National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision follows a notification issued by the Tripura Education (School) Department, directing government, government-aided, private, and recognized madrassa schools to implement the new practice as part of the daily school routine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharing the announcement, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said the initiative is intended to instill a stronger sense of patriotism, discipline, and national consciousness among students from an early age. He added that singing the National Song and National Anthem together every morning would inspire respect for the country’s heritage and democratic values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The notification states that whenever Vande Mataram<\/em> is sung or played, students, teachers, and school staff must stand in attention as a mark of respect and follow the prescribed protocol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision comes as India marks the 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram,”<\/strong> one of the nation’s most iconic patriotic songs. Originally composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay<\/strong>, Vande Mataram<\/em> has played a historic role in India’s freedom movement and continues to symbolize national pride and unity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the state government, the measure is expected to reinforce constitutional values, promote national integration, and cultivate a deeper emotional connection with the country’s cultural heritage among young learners.
